Welcome to Trubshaw's.

Now is the time.

Home to The Wibbley Brothers

Trubshaw's Astonishing Records is home to The Wibbley Brothers. We have more of The Wibbley Brothers than anyone could ever need.

In case you don't know, The Wibbley Brothers are an outsider English musical duo, credited by Record Collector magazine with creating "quite possibly one of the most eccentric rarities ever to have ended up in rock’s cobweb-encrusted vaults" with their second record  (and first album) release, 1982's 'The Wibbley Brothers Go Weird'.

A full-length second album entitled 'Mornin’ Jack' was released in winter 2020, folowed by a very odd mini-album, 'No More Canoeing' in 2022. Their next album, 'Kumquat', is expected in 2023.

The Wibbley Brothers Go Weird

This extraordinary album, originally released by Rondelet Records in 1982 received its first re-release, after 33 years, on 18th April 2015. It's "one of the most eccentric rarities ever to have ended up in rock’s cobweb-encrusted vaults" according to Record Collector, where "sanity rarely gains a foothold". Read the full review here.

Buy the CD or download on Amazon or Bandcamp, or dwonload from all the usual platforms. (Bandcamp also has a few remaining copies of the vinyl release).

The Link Wray EP

Never conventional in their approach to the music business, Terry and Ronnie Wibbley waited almost four decades to follow up their debut album. This four track ep heralded their difficult second album. More importantly, the cover features a photo of a cod's head full of custard creams.

See and hear here.

Mornin' Jack

The Wibbley Brothers eventually followed up the 1982 release of Go Weird with their difficult second album, Mornin' Jack. The cover updates the striking image used for the cover of Go Weird, and is posed by the same models, albeit somewhat older. CD can be used as a bird scarer - either by hanging at your uncle's allotment or attaching it to your grandad's shed. Alternatively you could play it loudly and that'll keep the buggers away.

Go to Bandcamp for the CD and everywhere for the download.

Mornin' Mrs Beale

Things From Behind The Fridge 1983-2021.
Outtakes, oddities, alternate takes, mistakes, whimsy, naked aggression, parking meters and, of course, much much more on this bargain compilation. Less a sister album to Mornin' Jack, and more a disgraced uncle.

Must be worth a fiver, surely?

No More Canoeing

The 41st anniversary expanded celebratory digital-only 10-inch album . Groovy. And don't be lulled into thinking that it's all about canoeing.

Another bargain.

Why does this man look so confident and strong? is it because he has just bought the Wibbley's all-music bundle from Bandcamp? No. Maybe it's the hat.
